The disciplines in the Faculty of Science span a wide range of topics, interests, and methods of thinking from biology to mathematics. Through inquiry based programs students become familiar with research techniques and innovation, apply theoretical learning to practical experience in labs and develop the critical thinking skills necessary to create, discover, and innovate.
Where do I get advising?
The Undergraduate Programs Office provides course and program advising for Science students.
In each of the major departments: Biological Science, Geology and Geophysics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics, Earth Science, Natural Sciences, Environmental Science, and Physics and Astronomy, specializations are available to choose from.
The Faculty of Science offers collaborative degrees with the Faculty of Social Science, leading to the Bachelor of Science in Earth Science and the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science.
Programs leading to Master's degrees and the Doctor of Philosophy degree are offered in conjunction with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
