Research Interests

I am currently working on a project concerning the effect of maternal mental health on child allostatic load (a comprehensive measure of child health), which incorporates ethnographic insight and evolutionary perspectives. Our research site is a rural, coffee-growing community in northern Nicaragua. My research interests include: 

  • Maternal and child health
  • Maternal mental health
  • Psychosocial stress and health
  • Biological variation and adaptation 
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to human health
