My Postdoc in Sustainability Studies, is to research and design the concept and implementation of the Campus as a Learning Lab (CLL) model and to collaborate on the new Sustainability Certificate Program on campus. Previously, I was a sessional instructor for four years in the Geography Department here at UofC teaching courses on slums, poverty, sub-Saharan Africa, and Globalization.

In previous research I've studied the collaboration between Low-Cost Private Schools in Uganda and western volunteer organizations to support their efforts and needs, as well as looking at the impacts of western volunteers on host communities. I've carried out research on the coping strategies of Zimbabwe transnationals living in South Africa; designed an after-school program for children in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who are the victims of rape, HIV/AIDS, and violence; evaluated a multi-region strategy for African Academic Institutions to collaborate with Canadian Academic Institutions to develop their partnerships with the private sector (funded by DFATD); conducted an evaluation for the American Red Cross of their HIV/AIDS programs in the Caribbean; and completed a Community Impact Assessment for an ecotourism development in the remote Yasawa Islands of Fiji.
