Research Interests

As an instructor in the Department of Biological Sciences, I am particularly interested in the design and implementation of novel, inquiry-based and blended learning exercises and laboratories. I am also very interested in the design and implementation of computer-based tutorials to help in the teaching of difficult concepts in genetics and biochemistry.

My main research interests revolve around the use of X-ray crystallography and bioinformatics to study the structure and function of proteins and RNA. I am particularly interested in the design of small molecule ligands for a wide variety of proteins.
