Profile

Dr. Tanis Fenton is an Adjunct Associate Professor, Epidemiologist, Registered Dietitian, Nutrition Research Lead for Alberta Health Services, and an Evidence Analyst for Dietitians of Canada.  She received her degrees from the Universities of Alberta (Nutrition - BSc), Toronto (Nutrition - MHSc), and Calgary (Epidemiology - PhD). Dr. Fenton is known for a growth chart she developed for preterm infants (ucalgary.ca/fenton) and her meta-analyses on the alkaline diet hypothesis. Her primary academic focus is on growth of preterm infants. She supports investigations into nutrition support of hospitalized patients and popular nutrition myths.
