Profile

Dr. Gavin McCormack holds a faculty appointment as an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences, Cumming School of Medicine, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Faculty of Environmental Design (University of Calgary). His research program, funded primarily by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), is in the area of population and public health and predominantly focuses on the relationships between urban planning and design and health (physical activity, diet, sedentary behaviour, and weight status). Dr. McCormack currently teaches Health Research Methods in the Department of Community Health Sciences graduate program. He also chairs the Population and Public Health (PPH) Specialization within the Department of Community Health Sciences graduate program. Dr. McCormack supervises graduate students specializing in PPH and epidemiology on topics directly related to his research program.
