Profile

Dr. Myhre is Associate Dean Distributed Learning and Rural Initiatives (DLRI) and the recent Chair of Admissions at the Cumming School of Medicine (CSM). He oversees over 4000 weeks of distributed medical education rotations per year across the educational continuum: undergrad, postgrad, CME and Faculty Development. He has successfully designed and implemented rural based medical education programs, both undergrad and postgrad since 2000: the CSM Rural Family Medicine residency program, the University of Calgary Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship, the Distributed Royal College postgraduate initiative and the design of a distributed Physician Assistant curriculum. His program work, including that of admissions, is grounded in social accountability through community engagement. His passion is grounded in over 30 years of generalist clinical practice.
