Profile

Dr. Ardene Robinson Vollman PhD RN CCHN(C) joined the Department as adjunct faculty in 1992; at that time she was Director of Public Health Nursing at Mount View Health Unit. She assumed a full-time position in the Faculty of Nursing (1995-2001), and from 2004-2008 worked with the President’s Advisors on Health and Wellness to promote public health initiatives at the University. She was interim Scientific Director of the Primary Health Care Strategic Clinical Network at Alberta Health Services (2014-16). Over the course of her time with the Department, she supervised several Master’s and PhD students and taught courses in Health Promotion and Evaluation. Ardene is a member of the O’Brien Institute for Public Health, lifetime honorary member of the Alberta Public Health Association, and past Chair of the Canadian Public Health Association Board. She is the editor of Canadian Community as Partner: Theory and Multidisciplinary Practice. Research interests focus on public health, health promotion, and evaluation.
