Professional Description

Brigitte manages the journal ARIEL. in her role, she liaises with authors, reviewers, and the publisher, Johns Hopkins University Press. She also proofreads final article copy and manages ARIEL's social media feeds. Within the Department of English, she is oversees technical equipment and supports department events through social media and advertisement design. As a member of the Research Committee, she manages the Paget-Hoy Speakers series. As well, she is Sustainability Coordinator for the Department of English and a member of the Arts in Motion (AIM) Wellness committee.

Brigitte writes and occasionally edits both fiction and non-fiction. A selection of her publications is available below.


As well as writing and editing fan fiction online, I write non-fiction for newsletters, magazines, and online publications. I'm inspired by prose and poetry from the 17th through 21st centuries and by the rugged mountain scenery of western Canada.  


Writing and voraciously reading fiction (esp. sci-fi, magic realism, historical and postcolonial literature). Other interests include film, craft painting, knitting, music, cycling, yoga, gardening, and travelling.
