Bio

Candace Moody, CPA, CA is an instructor in the Accounting area at the Haskayne School of Business. Candace has been teaching at Haskayne since 2016 where she teaches accounting in both the Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Management programs. She is also a Teaching Fellow and Director, Master of Management.

Candace holds an Honours in Business Administration (HBA) from the Ivey School of Business and received her Chartered Professional Accountant’s (formerly CA) designation from CPA Ontario in 2005. Candace has a significant background in public accounting having spent 14 years working as an audit senior manager with KPMG LLP. Her public accounting industry experience included auditing both private and public companies in the transportation and food industries as well as in the public sectors of utilities and hospitals. While at KPMG, Candace was also the Director of the CPA (formerly CA) training programs and other audit learning.

Candace presented at the Canadian Academic Accounting Association’s (CAAA) annual conference in 2020 and at the University of Calgary’s Conference on Postsecondary Learning and Teaching in 2018 on the topic of increasing student engagement with active learning techniques. She is also a trained facilitator of the Instructional Skills workshops that both Haskayne and the Taylor Institute host annually.

Candace was the recipient of the CPA Education Foundation Teaching prize in 2020 and was nominated for the University of Calgary Students’ Union Teaching Excellence Award in both 2018 and 2019.
