Dr. Vernon Jones is the Associate Dean (Graduate Program) and Professor at the Haskayne School of Business. He has served as Assistant Dean (B.Comm and MBA programs), Associate Dean (Academic Planning & Development) and Vice-Dean including two years as Interim Dean (January 2006 to December 2007). Dr. Jones currently also serves as Academic Director of the Alberta/Haskayne Executive MBA. This program has been ranked among the 100 top executive MBA programs in the world by the Financial Times (UK).

Dr. Jones holds a BA in Economics and an MBA and PhD in Business Administration from the University of British Columbia. He has also been an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration (now John Molson School) at Montreal’s Concordia University, and a visiting Professor at the Institut de Formation Internationale at ESC Rouen in France. He served as Executive Director of the Banff School of Advanced Management from 1996 to 1999.

Dr. Jones’ research has focused on the application of analytical methods to marketing problems. He has a particular interest in the origin and development of business schools in Calgary and Banff and has written histories of the Faculty of Management at the University of Calgary (now Haskayne School of Business) and the Banff School of Advanced Management.
