Dr. Michael Wright is an Associate Professor in the accounting area. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from Simon Fraser University and his PhD in Accounting from Queen's University.  Michael currently teaches in the new Global Energy Executive MBA program offered in partnership with IHS-CERA.  He also teaches Intermediate Financial Accounting to accounting undergraduate students; Introductory Financial Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, and Global Energy Finance & Accounting to MBA students; and Philosophy of Science to business PhD students.  He has also taught in executive development programs.

Dr. Wright is currently conducting research on accounting ethics education and oil and gas accounting while his previous research has focused on distance education among other areas.  He has previously  published in such journals as Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory and in Accounting, Organizations and Society.  He has received research grants from the Certified General Accountants Research Foundation, Certified General Accountants of Alberta, the Canadian Academic Accounting Association and the Society of Management Accountants.
