Research Interests

My primatological research interests include primate social dynamics, primate conservation issues, human-primate interactions, and Indigenous perspectives on animals. My main study species has been the black and white colobus (Colobus vellerosus) on which I have conducted field research at Boabeng Fiema, Ghana. I have also conducted field research on vervets and red colobus in Uganda.

Another main research interest of mine includes gender; in particular understanding how masculinity and femininity is constructed in North America, investigating how the media influences our ideas about gender, the links between the economy and gender and understanding gender creativity.
