Mary Susan Pavelka

Research areas include Japanese macaque social dynamics, primate gerontology, reproductive termination, the evolution of menopause, and the behavioural ecology of the Belizean black howler monkey. Recently established a long-term study site in Monkey River, Belize. Runs an annual spring session primate behaviour field school at the site. Has also written and presented papers dealing with the value of the cross-species perspective in Anthropology. Teaching areas include Introduction to Primatology and Human Evolution; Primate Behaviour; Evolutionary Anthropology; The History of Primatology; and Research Methods.
