Profile

Dr. Aparicio-Ting joined the Department of Community Health Sciences in 2012. She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) form the University of Texas Health Science Center (2002) and a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Calgary (2010). Her epidemiology research interests are in the social epidemiology of health inequities and behaviours. Recently, Dr. Aparicio has shifted some of her research programme to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) with a focus on applied education research in health science education, curriculum development and evaluation in both local and global settings, critical thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration in education. Throughout her work, she is committed to educational leadership and mentorship (including peer and undergraduate mentorship).
