Profile

Dr. Stang is a pediatric emergency physician at the ACH, an Assistant Professor in the departments of Pediatrics and Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary and a member of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI). Dr. Stang graduated from Medical School (2001) and completed a pediatric residency at McGill University (2005). She has also completed a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA 2001), a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship (2008) and a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology (MSc 2009) at McGill University. Her research interests are in pediatric health services with a focus on patient safety, quality improvement and emergency department efficiency.

Dr. Stang is the Research Lead for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Section of Emergency Medicine.  The pediatric emergency research team is a large and active research program with the goal of improving outcomes for acutely ill and injured children.  We have a number of research projects and opportunities for graduate students in diverse areas including gastroenteritis, sepsis, appendicitis, head injury, simulation, asthma, patient safety and quality improvement.
