Profile

Dr. Karen Tang is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Community Health Sciences.  After receiving an MD from the University of Alberta, she completed her general internal medicine subspecialty training, followed by an MSc and research fellowship, all at the University of Calgary.  She has experience in a wide range of research methods, including questionnaire development and validation, use and linkage to administrative databases, qualitative methods, and systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Her research interests are in the broad areas of health services research and social epidemiology, with specific focus on the interactions between social status, social vulnerabilities and health outcomes.
