ENEL 525 - Neuro-Fuzzy & Soft Computing - Fall 2007

(formerly Electrical Engineering 519.17) Neural networks: neuron models and network architectures; preceptrons; Widrow-Hoff learning and the backpropagation algorithm; associative memory and Hopfield networks; unsupervised learning. Fuzzy systems: basic operations and properties of fuzzy sets; fuzzy rule generation and defuzzification of fuzzy logic; fuzzy neural networks. Applications in areas such as optimization, signal and image processing, communications, and control. Introduction to genetic algorithms and evolutionary computing. Introduction to chaos theory.
This course may not be repeated for credit.
