Dr. Ghannouchi has made several important contributions as a scientist and demonstrated a strong leadership as a technical leader and made substantial contributions as an educator in training highly qualified personnel in the area of microwave and wireless engineering.

Summary of professional achievements:

  • 600 + referred publications  (150+ in IEEE Transactions and Journals)
  • 18 Patents (10 US  & 1 Canadian patents awarded and 7 patent applications)
  • 5 books  ( one in Press) and 4 book’s chapters
  • 45 PhD and 55 MSc graduated (most of them are  faculty or holding senior managerial or technical positions in the Industry)
  • 32 Postdoctoral Fellows supervised.
  • 3 University spun-off companies  founded (AmpliX Inc., ElectroMagneticWorks and Green Radio Technologies)
  • 15+ millions dollars awarded from government agencies to conduct R& D activities
  • 3+ millions dollars awarded by Industry to conduct R& D activities.

  • Awarded a major R&D project ($ 4.5M) by Alberta Innovates Technology Futures strategic Chair program in 2011
  • Awarded a major R&D project ($5.5M) by the Governments of Alberta (iCORE) and Canada (Canada Research Chair) in 2005 to establish the Intelligent RF iRadio Laboratory at the University of Calgary.
  • Awarded a major industry oriented R&D  project ($3.5M) award by the Government of Quebec, Canada,  in 1994, (Synergy program) to establish the Ampli Laboratory at the Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal
  • Provide consulting services to several companies, which design and manufacture RF components and systems
  • Professional Engineer: Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Quebec since 1983.
  • Professional Engineer: Member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists (APEGGA) of Alberta, Canada, since 2005
  • Committee member and referee for FCAR, NSERC (Canada) grant applications
