this seminar is about physical geography, its underlying philosophy, concepts and methods. Material covered includes structure, scaling, verification and validation, forecasting and applications. these topics will be treated in lecture format in the first few weeks of the course. The remaining weeks will be used for two sets of group presentations by students. the first will be exclusively oral followed by discussion. the second will include a writte essay which will be defenced in class.
This course may be repeated for credit.
