Simulation provides a means for imitating the behaviours of real-world situations in the computer environment, allowing for 'what-if' analyses of different scenarios. The emphasis is on hands-on experience in transforming a real situation into a simulation model and obtaining reliable results. The course will focus on discrete-event simulation, with the introduction of other techniques such as advanced Monte Carlo simulation.
This course may not be repeated for credit.
