Peter Tertzakian

Peter Tertzakian is an adjunct professor at the Haskayne School and an ISEEE Research Fellow. With the Haskayne School, Tertzakian’s work involves case-study development as well as guest lecturing in both the Haskayne MBA program and the new Haskayne/IHS-CERA Global Energy Executive MBA program.

At his position with ISEEE, Tertzakian’s activities include contributions to lectures, workshops and research initiatives, and advising students in ISEEE’s Energy and Environmental Systems interdisciplinary graduate specialization on their thesis projects.

Tertzakian, the best-selling author of A Thousand Barrels A Second and chief energy economist of ARC Financial Corp., blends three decades of experience in geophysics, economics and finance to analyze energy trends. He writes a weekly column, ARC Energy Charts, and is a regular media commentator and sought after public speaker. His most recent book is The End of Energy Obesity.

He holds an undergraduate degree in geophysics from the University of Alberta, a graduate degree in econometrics from the University of Southhampton, U.K., and a Master of Science in management of technology from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.
