Digital Entrepreneurship and Capital Acquisition in the Global Economy

We discuss the ways in which digital technologies have changed the range of financing opportunities for entrepreneurs and new ventures. We provide an overview of new financing methods enabled by digital technology followed by a more in-depth look at two particularly digital-heavy channels: crowdfunding and Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs). Our analysis provides insight on the extent to which digital financing plays a role in the globalization of entrepreneurship.
