An introduction to the politics of the Chinese communist party-state. Topics may include: the Mao era leadership debates on socialist development; the post-Mao reforms of Den Xiaoping and his successors; and the emerging challenges associated with market reforms and China's integration into the global capitalist economy.
This course may not be repeated for credit.
