My research focuses on eating disorders and related issues, including questions related to etiology, classification, and assessment of eating problems and body image across the lifespan. I use various methods to examine risk, resilience, and maintenance factors for eating disorders in pre-teens, adolescents, and adults. In one research stream, I study the debate over whether eating disorders are forms of addictions. In another research stream, I study how to help bridge the gap between researchers' recommendations and practitioners' choice of psychotherapies for eating disorders.
