I am a Ph.D. student in French. I hold a B.A. in Education from the University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and an MA in French from the Université de Genève (Switzerland). My research interests are French Language Didactics and Language-in-Education. My supervisor is Dr. Ozouf Amedegnato. Before my admission into the PhD programme, I was an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics, University of Dar es Salaam. My choice of the University of Calgary was motivated by recommendation from a friend who was then pursuing a graduate degree in Canada. I speak Runyambo, Kiswahili, English and French. I also have scanty receptive skills in Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Luganda and Lunyankole. I greatly enjoy reading novels by Ngugi wa Thiong’o, and Une Vie De Boy by Ferdinand Oyono, watching movies from Nollywood movie industry and watching European football.
