I come from China where I obtained my B.A. in English Translation & Chinese Education and M.A. in English Linguistics and Literature from Shandong University. My research interests include second language listening, language learning and teaching, and translation studies. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Applied Linguistics at the University of Calgary, with my dissertation focusing on the listening comprehension of second language idioms.
The reason why I choose the University of Calgary is that I can develop my research skills and academic potentials under the guidance of the faculty members with great expertise. I speak Chinese, English, and have a reading knowledge of French. In my non-academic pastime, I like reading short stories and my favorite novel series is The Three-Body trilogy which portrays a grand picture of human life in the future.
