About Me

Raised in a small francophone town in eastern Ontario, French was all I could speak for the better part of my childhood. Now, I speak both English and French, as well as German and some Spanish. I came to the University of Calgary as a transfer student from Saint Paul University in Ottawa. Originally accepted into the bachelors program in Linguistics, I made the change to the French program after an inspiring class I had taken as an option made me re-evaluate my choice of major. Even though I am still very much interested in linguistics, my current research interests include Indigenous poetry, “trash” poetry and the concept of sorority in contemporary Canadian women’s poetry. Having recently graduated with a B.A in French, I am now pursuing a thesis-based M.A at the SLLLC. I chose the University of Calgary for the employment, research and funding opportunities which are allowing me to reach my academic and professional goals whilst reducing financial stress.

If I am not reading nor writing poetry, I most likely am watering my plants, painting or riding my bicycle.
