Profile

Dr. Myra Baynton has an MSW and PhD from the University of Calgary and has worked in a variety of human services contexts, including education, health care and municipal government.  She has worked as an independent consultant, completing contracts ranging from educational television curriculum design to health promotion.  She has held management positions and worked as a Human Resources/Management consultant in the Middle East and Ireland. 

Myra has taught a variety of on-line courses.  Since joining the Faculty of Social Work in 2004, Dr. Baynton has been the Field Education Coordinator and Faculty Liaison for the MSW Leadership Specialization (SOWK 696) and has co-taught SOWK 667 (Leadership Theories in Action) and Diversity, Oppression & Social Justice (SOWK 697).  Myra is currently the Field Education Coordinator for the MSW Distance Program (Leadership Specialization).
