About Me

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Italian Studies from the University of Calgary. During both undergraduate degrees, I was fascinated by the expression of ethics found in Italian literature. After learning more about how different philosophical  and cultural concepts appear in the form of different writing styles, I was inspired to apply to the University of Calgary’s Master of Arts in the LLAC Transcultural studies program. My research interests include medieval, renaissance, and 20th century literature, stilnovismo, verismo, southern-Italian authors, and morality and ethics imbedded in Italian poetry and prose.

I speak fluent Italian and English. I also have intermediate knowledge of French and Spanish. If I had to choose one favourite literary work it would be the Divina Commedia by Dante Alighieri. I have many favourite movies, two of them being Silence by Martin Scorsese (2016) and La Ciociara by Vittorio De Sica (1960). I enjoy throwing pottery on the wheel, listening to music, reading, and cooking for/eating with friends and family.
