ENGO 343 - Fundamentals of Surveying - Winter 2025

Basic surveying procedures: distance measurements by taping and EDM; angular observations; total station and elements of terrestrial laser scanning surveys; differential and trigonometric levelling. Precision and accuracy of survey observations. Computations: traversing and area; the first and second geodetic problem in the plane; intersections; and co-ordinate transformations. Route surveys. Setting out surveys. Applications of surveying in sustainable systems engineering.
This course may not be repeated for credit.
