Components of measurement systems. Dynamic modelling of mechatronic systems and their transient and frequency response. Conversion of sensor outputs to voltage. Signal conditioning, amplifiers, and filters. Statistical analysis of measurement uncertainty. Digitization, sampling, aliasing, noise, and quantization error. Operating principles of sensors and actuators and their selection for industrial measurement and control.
This course may not be repeated for credit.
Prerequisite(s)
- Engineering 225, 349, Mathematics 375, and one of Digital Engineering 319, Engineering 319, or Electrical Engineering 419.
Antirequisite(s)
- Credit for Mechanical Engineering 461 and Engineering Physics 491 will not be allowed.
