Profile

Dr. Gail Jardine began her teaching career an early childhood educator in Ontario. From 1987 until 2000, she was a stay-at-home Mother and graduate student at the University of Calgary. Dr. Jardine currently teaches courses in Environmental Education, Curriculum Planning and Teaching across the Alberta Elementary Program of Studies, and is frequently a Practicum Advisor. Dr. Jardine is the Editor of the Alberta Teachers Association Journal, One World in Dialogue. Dr. Jardine is also the elected Chair of the Curriculum and Learning Educational Study Area in the Faculty and coordinates an Early Childhood Education Certificate and the Bridge to Teaching Program for Foreign-prepared teachers.

Research & Scholarly Activity

Dr. Gail Jardine is an associate professor whose research interests include Environmental Education and Ethics, Ecological Teaching, Teaching and Curriculum Development in Social Studies, and Teacher Education, in particularly the Education of foreign-qualified teachers in Alberta.

Current Projects:

Dr. Jardine currently has a book contract with Sense Publishers to submit a manuscript entitled, When Education Reflects Earth: A Teacher’s Journey to Ecological Teaching.

Dr. Gail Jardine regularly presents at the Alberta Teachers Association Social Studies Provincial Conference and at the EECOM (The Canadian Network for Environmental Education and Communication) and and is a frequent presenter at WestCAST.
